Paint Correction

What is Paint Correction ?

Paint correction is a machine polishing process designed to restore the clarity, depth, and overall finish of your vehicle’s paintwork. By carefully refining the surface, it removes or significantly reduces imperfections such as swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, and haze within the clear coat.

When carried out correctly, it enhances gloss, sharpens reflections, and brings the paint back to a more refined, near-original condition. The level of correction can vary from a single-stage enhancement to more intensive multi-stage processes, depending on the condition of the paint and the desired result.

Our Process

Every vehicle undergoes a carefully structured process, tailored specifically to its paint type, condition, and overall requirements. No two vehicles are treated the same - each is assessed individually to ensure the most appropriate and least invasive approach is taken, preserving paint integrity while achieving the highest possible level of refinement.

Preparation and inspection form the foundation of any successful paint correction. Without this, even the most advanced machine polishing techniques will not deliver consistent or long-lasting results. Each stage is carried out methodically, ensuring the surface is properly cleansed, stabilised, and ready for refinement.

From initial assessment through to final finishing, the process is designed to safely restore clarity, depth, and gloss while maintaining a measured and controlled approach throughout.

The general process involves:

(Please note for vehicles that have a matte finish, vinyl wrapped or have PPF the process and pricing may be different - please contact us for more information)

  • Comprehensive vehicle inspection under controlled lighting to assess paint condition, defect severity, and previous work

  • Paint depth readings where required, ensuring safe working limits are maintained across all panels

  • A structured correction plan, tailored specifically to the vehicle’s paint system, condition, and desired outcome

  • Deep exterior valet

  • Chemical decontamination to remove tar, iron, and embedded fallout

  • Clay bar treatment (mechanical decontamination) to fully cleanse the surface

  • Machine polishing stage, utilising carefully selected pad and compound combinations to refine the paintwork
    – Reduction of swirl marks, oxidation, haze, and light to moderate defects
    – Enhancement of gloss, depth, and clarity
    – Process tailored from single-stage enhancement through to more involved correction where required

  • Refinement stage (where applicable) to further enhance finish quality and maximise clarity under multiple light sources

Single Stage Paint Correction

A refined machine polishing process designed to enhance gloss, depth, and overall clarity while reducing light swirl marks, haze, and minor imperfections. This single-stage correction typically removes around 70–80% of swirl marks and light defects, delivering a noticeable improvement without the need for more intensive multi-stage processes.

By carefully refining the clear coat, the finish is sharpened with improved reflections and a more uniform, revitalised appearance - ideal for vehicles that have lost their original shine but do not require heavy correction.

Results will vary depending on paint condition, with a strong visual enhancement achieved while maintaining safe paint levels.
